Dumfries YES offers young people the information, advice and support they need to make informed choices about their lives. It exists to:
- offer a service that is non-judgemental, user-friendly, inspiring, approachable, in an environment that makes young people feel comfortable
- provide all young people with equal access to the resources they may require
- respond to suggestions and issues raised by young people
- initiate, support and develop innovative projects to encourage local young people to express themselves and promote youth issues eg. live music events, peer education and multi-media workshops
- work closely and develop partnerships with other agencies and young people to improve youth service provision and to keep youth issues high in their priorities
- involve young people in every level of decision making within YES and at the core of its activities
- record, recognise and celebrate young people’s achievements.
Dumfries YES aims to be a dynamic resource for young people, continually developing and expanding along with youth culture and its requirements. |
